Writing in different languages is becoming easier each day, thanks to all the dictionaries and translators you can find online. GT4T takes everything a step further by allowing you to translate words or entire phrases on the spot while working in your favorite text editor. Just hit a hotkey and the application will translate your text instantly, to a language of your choice, which is much more convenient than having to open a web browser and copying and pasting text.

The application has several payment plans, but you can also try it out for free. It comes in a small package, and you can install its components in under a minute. There is no need to install any special tools or services, and you don't have to worry about its hardware requirements.

GT4T doesn't come with a user interface, but it does have a tabbed configurations panel, which you can access through a system tray icon. It contains a wide range of useful options, including drop-down menus, in which you can select the source and target languages. The software works quietly in the background, and it takes care of your translations right away when you use one of its hotkeys. The best part is that it works with any text editor, so it doesn't matter if you use MS Word or Notepad. You will be able to translate text anywhere.

There are several hotkeys you can use while working with text. You can use one of them to translate words or phrases instantly, without having to provide any further input. Alternatively, you can use another hotkey to bring up a pop-up panel on which you can choose between different translation engines.

Of course, each word can be translated in various ways, which is why GT4T lets you bring up a list of meanings for selected words, through a specific hotkey. Furthermore, you can switch between several lists of meanings, from different services, after which you can simply click the meaning you think is the best, to translate your selected word. It is also possible to compile a glossary with your own translations, which you can use when translating words, through the same system of hotkeys and pop-ups.

Any translation job can go much smoother when GT4T is working on your system.

Pros

You can translate text instantly, through a hotkey. The application works with any text editing environment. It has simple hotkeys and a tutorial, so you can master it in no time.

Cons

The application has trouble connecting to some services when you look at glossaries.
